MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS She'll Actually Love
Paul and I typically don’t do gifts for holidays simply because I’m a very hard person to gift. Not in a rude way, but because most of the time, I don’t feel like gifts truly nail it (sorry Paul!). To me, I’d much rather someone skip giving me a gift if it’s an item they felt they were forced to give me just because of a date on a calendar.
When I think back to some of my favorite gifts from, a few stand out – not because of the price point, but because there was thoughtful intention behind it. Something that a person saw and thought of me. An item that would look nice in my home. A piece of jewelry that represented my kids – stuff like that.
I think about it the same way when I’m gifting someone and always try to find something that’s actually personal to them. I like to think of their activities or how they spend their days, and complement that in some way, or upgrade something they have and use all the time.
In the spirit of finding thoughtful gifts that you won’t see on every retailer, I sourced an entire list of Mother’s Day gifts from Etsy. There are options for the mom who loves to host, like this tablecloth or these hand-embroidered linen napkins. For the mom who loves unique items in her kitchen, I’m obsessed with this oversized mug. Has she recently gotten on the sourdough baking trend? If so, I love this reusable bowl cover. If she’s in her gardening era, these gathering baskets are cute and functional.
There are options for every budget – I hope you find something she’ll (truly) love!
