Happy 2013!

I finally made it back home to LA after a whirlwind of a week in the mid-west. I flew out to Indiana on Christmas Eve to spend a white holiday with the other half of my family and we got our Christmas miracle! Snow fell (7″ to be exact) overnight and before we could even think about the yummy breakfast my mommy would make we were bundling up to head outside and build a snowman and sled down the driveway.

A few days later we road-tripped over to St. Louis to show me some more mid-west charm and meet some more relatives. I was unfortunately stricken with an awful stomach virus that has been going around and landed up in an ambulance bound for the hospital. I will spare you the gruesome details but my mom is truly my hero. She brought me to life and saved my life (I almost drowned in the bathtub after fainting from dilated blood vessels and severe dehydration). Needless to say, the last week really instilled the need to reflect on this past year–and life in general–and I am truly so grateful for everyone I am surrounded by.

This New Years Eve I will be sipping hot soup with my love and puppies in our comfiest pajamas and watch movies until I fall asleep (hopefully not before midnight) at our home. My resolutions will not include working out more or saving more money–pretty sure those are already ingrained into my brain on a daily basis–this year I will focus on the things that make me the happiest. 2013 will be my happy year, allowing me to cherish everything I love and emphasize my commitment to finding absolute contentment. I hope 2013 will be the same for you.

My resolutions:

A girl can dream. So until I get the real thing {ring} I’ll be sporting all my favorite pieces.

I love them. So why not own some ridiculously amazing pairs that will one day make my daughter very happy!?

This blog is my favorite hobby. I want to execute all the projects I’ve been dreaming about and share them with you 🙂

I have the most amazing girlfriends and would love to spend more time with them. Life can get in the way but friends are so important and I need to remember to let each one know.

I am such a lucky girl. My relationship with Prince Charming deserves the most TLC and just like friends, cannot let daily minutiae get in the way of letting him know how much I value him and what we have.

Family, friends, newcomers, they are all welcome. I LOVE to entertain and hope to do it more often–good food always draws a good crowd.

There is no better feeling than waking up in the morning motivated and loving your outfit. It really does set the tone for the day. With that said, everyday needs to have that special je ne sais quoi!

I have so many goals–short and long term–not even listed, but I must focus and keep my sights on the end result. I know what my ultimate happiness is and this year I will achieve whatever I have on that agenda. Happy 2013!!!
