Not really sure WHAT I was thinking when I packed for NYFW (New York Fashion Week). In my head I envisioned full looks–layered, chic, heeled, accessorized. Oh man, how I was wrong. Sure, during a presentation / dinner / event I could last in said outfit, but let’s be honest: the cobblestone, all the walking, the heat, no. I thanked my lucky stars when I discovered that I packed these YMI jeans (phew!), because if I had to wear another tight, buttoned-up look during my breakfast meeting I was pretty much either going to cancel or show up in my sweats. Not even kidding.
Jeans (stretchy ones, to be clear) were a necessary essential during my NYFW trip. There’s definitely down-time between events, and I guess we all kind of forget this thing called EATING that needs to take place as well. In other words, not every single outfit has to be runway / street-style paparazzi-ready.
I did manage to pull off a rather polished look in the midst of my panic that I couldn’t find one comfy thing to wear that didn’t scream “slob” or “just woke up.” Black jeans are pretty much a second skin to me during the fall / winter seasons so owning a comfy pair that doesn’t fade and happens to be the right length for me is high on my priority list. Just like this denim dress I wore over the summer, YMI has always been a reliable denim brand that has come back into my life full circle.
You will be seeing lots more YMI in my fall looks this coming season, as I’m already stocking up on other washes and colors. AND, just in case you don’t remember, YMI is extremely affordable (aka Paul-approved) so you can go a little crazy without feeling the guilt, ya know?!
