I Got It From My Mama

When I was in high school I started getting into my hair being done. I had zero clue how to work a blow dryer and flat irons weren’t quite a thing yet. Or maybe they were but I wasn’t allowed to use it?? Either way, my mom was fully in charge of blow drying my hair every week before school. She would skillfully work the round brush until my hair was sleek but full of volume at the same time. To this day I’m not an expert at blow drying–something about both hands holding a tool overwhelms me and I end up getting my hair ripped out by the scary end of the blow dryer. Thankfully today we have so many better ways to achieve the same look minus the bald spots. My mom is a big beauty junkie so anytime there’s a new hair tool on the market I can always count on her to teach me how to use it. We recently tried out 2 Conair tools from Ulta–the 2-in-1 Styler & the Infinity Pro Curl Secret 2.0.

The Conair 2-in-1 Styler is perfect for me since I can straighten my hair but also get those curved ends using the same tool. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and only requires one tool (!!!). Think of it as your cheat sheet for the perfect “blow out.” The Infinity Pro Curl Secret 2.0 is amazing for my mom, who never quite perfected the curling wand (cough cough…like me). She loves wearing her hair curly but always struggles so this tool makes it extremely easy. All you have to do is section off your hair and sort of “feed” it to the tool and it does all the work for you with one push of a button.

Ulta has tons of amazing hair tools that make for a pretty fabulous Mother’s Day gift, and you can use it as an opportunity to bond with your mom. Set up a day to play with your new tools and try them out on each other. That’s how I finally learned how to do my own hair 🙂
