3 Steps to Flawless Foundation

Something that has taken me time to learn, is that foundation requires certain steps to look flawless. I used to think you could just glob some makeup onto your hand and wipe (SO cringe-worthy!), but thankfully we’ve moved way past those days. Today, I won’t apply foundation without all the necessary tools and products that accompany it. Hourglass VEIL Mineral primer was the first primer I ever purchased and I’ll never forget how transformed my makeup application was–I refused to ever apply makeup again without it. I recently received the Hourglass Collection and put everything to work on my face to see just how flawless everything worked together and let me tell you, it’s fabulous. Below I’m sharing a step-by-step on the products I used to create a very seamless, finished, flawless look.

Step One: Start with the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer. It’s sheer, lightweight, and extremely effective. As I mentioned above, makeup application just isn’t the same without primer. It should always be the first step regardless of the look you’re going for.

Step Two: Dot the Hourglass Veil Mineral foundation stick all over your face. Using the Vanish foundation brush, work in circular motions to blend in the product. The foundation is buildable, so if you feel like you want more coverage don’t be afraid to dot some more on. I always prefer a more natural finish so I found that 3 dots in each area I wanted covered was enough.

Step Three: Seal the deal with the Veil Translucent setting powder. Don’t underestimate the power of a good setting powder. It will keep you makeup in place and prevents it from creeping into any fine lines or wrinkles in your skin. I especially depend on it around my eyes, since that is where I have developed the most fine lines.
