BOOKS I'VE Read Lately

Wanted to share an updated list of books I’ve read (& listened to) recently. I will say, since the last time I shared this list, I’ve come a long way with Audiobooks. I just find that I’m going through books so much quicker now since I can listen in the car, on the treadmill, while cleaning, etc. I still keep my Kindle loaded with a book at all times for when I want to read in bed, by the pool, while I color, or in the bath but doing a combo of both has me reading a ton more than I used to. Since summer is approaching and there will be some plane rides in my future, would love some suggestions.

Something fun that I’ve done recently with my friends is a very loose “book club” where we read the same book at our own pace but create mood boards around the characters. This helps us visualize and just makes for fun conversation. By the way, this club is just a group chat among 3 friends so it’s very casual and low effort. Having friends to discuss plot twists and random observations in books is super fun and I highly recommend you create your own!

OK let’s get into what I’ve read / listend to lately. By the way, you can find my running book list here and my Kindle cover is this brand.

BOOKS I’VE READ LATELY

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden – I don’t know how anyone could dislike this book, it was full of plot twists and intrigue. I love a psychological thriller and this one definitely checked all the boxes for me. I think I read this book in 3 days, I couldn’t put it down.

Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score – I’m typically not a fan when books do spinoffs on other characters but this one surprisingly pulled at my heart. I think that’s ultimately the theme of this series in general – grumpy guy + bubbly girl hate each other but end up loving each other. It’s sweet but predictable.

Flawless by Elsie Silver – This gives Yellowstone vibes. Tortured cowboy and badass career woman fall in love. Not my favorite, but was a quick entertaining read.

Undeniably You by Jewel E Ann – Okay, I kind of hated this first book but for some reason continued reading the series. I was intrigued but also bored at the same time. The ending left you pretty much NEEDING to read the next book. Huge cliffhanger.

Transcend by Jewel E Ann – I was expecting this to be very juicy based on the ending of the first book. Unfortunately it fell flat. I did feel it was better than the first book but the main character just always pissed me off.

Epoch by Jewel E Ann – WHY / HOW did I make it to the 3rd book lol?! I actually like this author so I was holding out hope that it would be good. Now that I’m writing this out, I feel like I would skip this series.

Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings – If you’re into Gossip Girl, this will be right up your alley. Think: London, scandal, designer, rich. I haven’t finished this series yet but very much enjoyed the first book.

Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings – The 2nd book. There’s a lot of character development in this book. I felt the plot took a while to pick up but it ended up destroying me. These books also do the thing where you need to read the next book to know what happens next. Will report back on the rest of the series once I finish.

Mile High by Liz Tomforde – LOVED. The pace keeps it moving, it’s steamy, and I feel like the author does a great job telling the story.

Right Move by Liz Tomforde – Book 2. Focused on different characters but equally as amazing as the first.

Caught Up by Liz Tomforde – Book 3. Also focused on different characters and might be my favorite? I honestly don’t know, but worth reading all three. I think a fourth is coming too.
